Beech Park Golf Club (“Beech Park” and/or the “Club”) has created this Privacy Statement to help you understand what personal data we collect and how we handle and use this information. Whether you are a member or visitor, your personal data is important to us.
Personal Data – what do we mean by that?
The processing of personal data is governed by the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018. Personal Data means data which relates to a living person who may be identified directly or indirectly from that data. GDPR and the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018 confer rights on individuals in relation to the privacy of their personal data as well as responsibilities on those persons holding and processing such data.
How Beech Park collects your Personal Data and for what purposes
Beech Park may collect personal data from members or visitors in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when members or visitors visit our website, fill out an enquiry form, respond to a survey, enter a competition, make a dinner or golf reservation, book a golf lesson, or any other activity or service we make available. Such information is deemed to be consensually volunteered by you to Beech Park when you engage with us, or communicate with us in any way, and may consist of some or all of the following:
Your full name and date of birth; your address; your various email addresses; your various phone numbers, including mobile phone numbers; your gender; your nationality; financial information about you, including bank details, credit card details, or other payment details; online booking information; details of other family members, emergency contact details, medical details; photograph and/or video and CCTV images or, any other associated information about you which may be considered as personal data.
When you access the Club’s website or WIFI facilities, your device’s browser provides us with information such as IP address, browser type, access time and URL details which are collected and used to compile statistical data. This information may be used to help improve the Club’s website and other services.
Beech Park may collect and process information in relation to children which it will manage in a way which is appropriate to the age of the child. Information is usually collected when children become junior members of the Club, partake in golfing activities or attend social events such as Santa visits at Christmas time in the company of a parent/guardian.
All such information is collected to enable Beech Park provide golfing facilities and associated services to Club members and visitors. Club members and visitors can refuse to supply personal information to the Club but, if exercising this option, and depending on the extent of the information refused, they may not be able to take advantage of several of the Club’s facilities or services as a result.
How long will we keep your Personal Data?
Beech Park will retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes stated in this Privacy Statement or (i) as otherwise necessary to comply with applicable laws, or (ii) for not longer than 7 years from the date of expiry of your membership at Beech Park.
What are your rights in relation to your Personal Data?
You have various rights in relation to your personal data. In particular, you have a right to:
• obtain confirmation that we are processing your personal information and request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask that we update the personal information we hold about you, or correct such information that you think is inaccurate or incomplete.
You also have a right to:
• ask that we delete personal information that we hold about you, or restrict the way in which we use that information;
• withdraw consent to our processing of your personal information;
• ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time;
• object to our processing of your personal information.
When you withdraw your consent to our processing of your information, we will cease processing the relevant information but the effect may be that we are no longer able to provide some or all of our golfing activities and associated services. However, we may still retain a copy of the relevant information for as long as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
How We Protect Your Information
Beech Park has in place appropriate operational and technical security measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Only Beech Park Management Committee members and Beech Park management staff, all with appropriate awareness of privacy obligations and the need to use your information in connection with our activities, are provided with access to your personal information.
Third Party Websites
Any information you submit to Beech Park via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. The Club cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. Your interactions with those features and platforms are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
The Club’s website may contain links to other websites whose privacy practices may be different from ours. If you submit personal data to any of these sites, your information is governed by their respective privacy policies. You are encouraged to carefully read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
Sharing Your Personal Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent members’ or visitors’ personal information to others. We may share your information with external and internal data processors such as BRS, Golf Ireland, Clubnet and we may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and website or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters, surveys, running club competitions or for golf handicap management purposes. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes unless you instruct us otherwise.
Contact details may be disclosed to other Club members upon request for the purposes of running and administering the Club’s matchplay competitions. Similarly, contact details may be provided to team managers for the purposes of organising and selecting players to represent Beech Park in inter-club representative competitions.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
Beech Park Golf Club may update this Privacy Statement from time to time by posting a new version on our web-site. We encourage members and visitors to frequently check this page for any changes and to stay informed about how we are protecting and securing the personal data we collect. We may also notify members of any changes to the Privacy Statement by email. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Statement periodically and become aware of any changes or modifications.
