The Irish Veteran Cyclists Association
The Irish Veteran Cyclists Association (IVCA) was established in 1968 with the objective of encouraging cyclists to remain active into their older years. The Association caters for cyclists over 40 years of age (35 in the case of women) and organises a full programme of graded racing events and touring events throughout the year. It is affiliated to Cycling Ireland, the national governing body for cycling, and has a membership of almost 400
people. Some of our members continue to participate in cycling events into their 70s and 80s.
Each year, the IVCA runs a race outside Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, close to Beech Park Golf Club. The Golf Club has been very supportive in making their facilities available to enable our members to park safely and prepare for our race. They also provide access to their clubhouse for our prizegiving ceremony afterwards. The club does not charge the IVCA for the use of these facilities.
The IVCA is very appreciative of the access provided by Beech Park Golf Club to their facilities and looks forward to a continued positive relationship with the club in connection with our event.
